BlueHost Review
BlueHost has been doing web hosting for 13 years now. So don’t be surprised if they are now hosting a million domains. Well, they do have some good points, but like all other web hosts, they too have their weaknesses. So this too is worth a review.
WHAT IS GOOD ABOUT BLUEHOST?
1. Shared Hosting Protection Through VPS
Low-cost hosting providers usually do shared hosting since it can save them a great deal of money, one reason why price is quite cheap for you too. With shared-hosting, a number of users are using one same server so do not expect 100% uptime ever. And not only that, if you happen to be using the same server with a bad website, the damages this incident can cause to your site may be inevitable. Basically these are the down sides of shared hosting. BlueHost, although a budget web host, came up with a hosting solution to solve this shared-hosting issue. Through a VPS or dedicated hosting protection, Bluehost is able to protect your hosting resources for a price that is quite the same with a low-cost hosting provider. You also get better uptime because they provide CPU and Memory Protection.
2. Better Version Of Cpanel.
cPanel is now the most preferred controlled panel in web hosting since it makes web management so easy that you can have a decent site in less than 30 minutes. Not only does BlueHost support cPanel, it actually has a better version of it.
3. 1 Click Installs Of Web Scripts
Installing WordPress, ZenCart, phpBB and other web scripts is very easy with BlueHosts’s SimpleScripts Installer. So there is no need to worry about these things with BlueHost.
4. Ruby on Rails is supported
Developers will surely like the advantage of having Ruby on Rails web framework. Not all web hosts have this so it is a total advantage.
BLUEHOST – WHAT’S NOT TO LIKE?
Although it is quite common for budget web hosts to offer one single plan, many customers still find it inconvenient. Apparently BlueHost is one of those who doesn’t accept monthly payments.
BlueHost requires a yearly upfront payment. And this is quite a turn off since there are web hosts out there that accept monthly payments, or if not at least 3 months or 6 months initial contract. It is quite hard to commit right away to a web host especially since the industry players are very competitive and you can really hop from one host to another.
It is not smart at all to commit to a web host that doesn’t satisfy your needs. So paying for 1 whole year is not really that appealing as long as you are already sure that you are happy with a web host company.
Well, like most web hosts, BlueHost offers Money Back Guarantee to make you feel more secure with the yearly upfront payment. But of course, this too has limitations.
Limitations of Money Back Guarantee
1. 30 days of money back guarantee means 30 calendar days and not 30 working days.
2. Refund only covers the hosting fee. So do not expect to get back the payments made for SSL certificates and domain names.
3. No full refund shall apply for accounts active more than 30 days
4. The free domain name that comes with the hosting package will no longer be free once account is cancelled. And this is going to cost you $10.00.

I’ve had two websites hosted…
I’ve had two websites hosted by BlueHost. They’re pretty popular in the internet, and some reviews are pretty good so I decided to give them a shot. Well one thing I hate the most about Bluehost is that the loading time for videos takes longer that I would expect! Other stuff is okay like ease of use, flexibility and all that. But the loading speed is such a turn off. Oh by the way not just the download times of videos, but even for images. At first, it really ticks me off until I’ve gotten used to it I guess. Honestly, I am still not 100% sure if I am going to end my contract with them just yet. I must admit I’m already used to with their services and how I run my site through them.

I’ve been with Bluehost for…
I’ve been with Bluehost for almost 3 months now. So far, great customer support. The team is friendly and sounds always willing to help out. cPanel works out okay. Haven’t had any trouble using them although I am not such a computer person. Works fine for small online businesses like mine.

Great customer support? Are you…
Great customer support? Are you for real? I have been trying to call the customer support team for the past 3 days now. And it has been impossible to reach them! I have tried sending email messages as well. And the whole team seems to have disappeared! I can’t believe this people!

I don’t know about you…
I don’t know about you but I never had any trouble communicating with Bluehost customer service team. I cant say that they 100% available all the time, maybe some times they miss out on stuff but I get help from their people pretty quick. And the help comes quite efficient. Unlike other hosts who is always available but can’t really deliver the assistance that you need. I am currently tied with 2 webhosts, as for Bluehost I’m quite satisfied with their services. For a cheap web host, I get what I pay for, sometimes maybe even more. My website is running smoothly. And I am thankful that ruby on rails is supported. Loading time is okay, sometimes slow but its understandable since there are really heavy files. So its really gonna need more time the same way that other hosts do. Features are okay…

I've used Blue host for…
I’ve used Blue host for a long time (nearly 2 years) and everything is ok for the starting time, however, when my website goes bigger and bigger overtime, it got suspended nearly 2 times a month due to the large CPU consumption and I need to move onto another Hosting plan.
